There is a long list of Flickr groups about things Melbourne here (including Abbotsford, Collingwood Children’s Farm, Abbotsford Convent, Richmond, Fitzroy, Kew, Fitzroy North, Collingwood, etc.).
Someone has set up a Yarra River group. Here it is.
This photo is by Alan Lam. His photos are stunning. I am noticing a lot of talk about something with the acronym “HDR” in relation to photos that are a bit more stunning than usual. I’m working on working out what that is exactly.
HDR (high dynamic range) indicates that the image has been processed to adjust the colours. This is a very simplified explanation, but you could prob. find more on wikipedia if you are interested.
HDR when done well like any other creative process is stunning, HDR is also very easy and can be tried by any one with some time and patience and the software. Being done well by anyone, well that’s a whole other ball park.
A good example of a HDR image
